Dr Adrian Donoghue completed a Doctor of Psychology at the University of Melbourne. His doctoral thesis explored the emotional health of women pre- and post-hysterectomy. After graduation, his early public sector experience included providing psychological services for the Bendigo Health Care Group, and working at the Drug Dependence Clinic at the Austin Hospital.

For the past 20+ years, Adrian has been in private practice based in the Nillumbik region. He provides psychological services for a range of emotional difficulties, in particular, the depressive disorders and anxiety disorders. He uses empirically supported therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. For clients with long-standing emotional difficulties, he uses a Schema Therapy approach to help clients make the links between their developmental history and their long term behavioural patterns.

Adrian is a married father of two adult children, and has four grandchildren. He therefore supplements his clinical skills with a wealth of life experience. As many clients present with emotional challenges related to their life stage, he is able to guide clients through the multiple life tasks that a normal lifespan presents.

Adrian is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the College of Clinical Psychologists, as such, his clients are eligible to receive the top level Medicare rebate if they are referred through the Medicare Better Access Scheme. He undertakes regular professional development training, and peer supervision, to maintain and improve his clinical skills

Adrian is a firm believer in creating a work-life balance. To this end, much of his spare time is devoted to photography. He has gone on to become one of Australia's leading story-telling composite photographers.
